Determined to upgrade my current hippie-meets-librarian fashion sense, I recently splurged on a selection of France Luxe barrettes and clips. France Luxe offers mid- to high-end hair accessories that are both gorgeous and practical. Their products are made from cellulose acetate sheets in a village near Geneva, France. What really sets France Luxe products apart is that they are hand-crafted. They are also 100% guaranteed.

France Luxe has its own website at FranceLuxe.com and is featured on Amazon.com (under Beauty). The stores seem to differ slightly in inventory. I purchased from their Amazon.com site because it showed something different from their dot-com site.

I placed the order on a Tuesday. On Wednesday, I received a personal email from a customer support specialist alerting me to the fact that one item was out of stock and could either be backordered or supplied in an alternate color. I chose the alternate color (Tortoise instead of Tokyo). I received the order on Friday, with a bonus gift. It seems that the company commonly bonuses orders of 3 or more items. Each item was individually wrapped in tissue and sealed with a France Luxe sticker. Every accessory was even prettier than they looked in online photographs.

The one thing I did notice was that, although both shops state that one clip would "ship in a lovely France Luxe satin bag, suitable for gift giving", mine arrived just wrapped in tissue. This is certainly not a big deal; however, I do plan to alert their customer service to the omission.

Ladies with a flair for style should include cool hair accessories in their fashion budget. While there is no doubt that these accessories cost more than drugstore brands, they are also more chic and durable.
