I left Ocean’s Twelve hoping that an Ocean’s Thirteen would never see the light of day. Going out of the theater this weekend I was saying “Well, at least it wasn’t as bad as the last one.” This can’t be the reaction the stars behind these films are looking for, but I’m starting to think that maybe they don’t really care. And why should they? What could be better than getting together again, partying, playing pranks, having a good time with their acting buddies, oh yeah, and making a movie in the meantime? Come on guys, remember your audience - I can see you’re having fun up there on the big screen. How about sharing the wealth a little? The story follows Danny
Ocean (Clooney) and his usual team (minus the women) getting revenge on a
mean, old casino owner who is just about to launch his latest tower of power
on the Vegas strip. Unfortunately, the owner (Pacino) never really feels threatening
(or interesting) and I don‘t recall anyone ever being in danger on Ocean’s
team. When there’s no threat and no real surprises, what are you left
with? Ah yes, once again, the eye candy. Thankfully this time around I wasn’t
quite bored as before, but again, shouldn’t these stars be shooting
higher? I saw this film at Cinemark’s
Tinseltown 17 Theatres on Peach Street in Erie, PA. Click
