Preface

When I had first heard that Chuck Palahniuk, the author of the book behind one of my favorite films of all time, Fight Club, was coming to Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, I could not believe it. I knew that I absolutely had to get involved as much as possible and that the experience would be rewarding. I can tell you now, after the conference, that I never expected "Postcards From the Future: the Chuck Palahniuk Project" to be so much fun.

I actually got to spend some good quality time with Chuck, between one of Edinboro's fine establishments, my office and at the conference. Chuck is a really cool guy and he is fast approaching celebrity status. It is all quite amazing for this Portland, Oregon native who once worked as Service Documentation Specialist for a freightliner. He took some time out of his packed schedule to chat with me about Fight Club, the making of the film, future projects and movies in general.
